Super Duplex S32760 Stainless Steel
S32760 is a highly alloyed super duplex stainless steel with a ferritic-austenitic microstructure consisting of roughly 40-50% ferrite in the annealed condition, offering the high strength of a ferritic grade while preserving the corrosion resistance of an austenitic grade.
S32760 super duplex stainless steel has high strength, superior chloride corrosion resistance, high thermal conductivity, and a low coefficient of thermal expansion. Its high chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen content make it very resistant to pitting, crevice corrosion, and other forms of corrosion. S32760 duplex steel resists sulfide stress corrosion cracking in acidic gas conditions and is resistant to a wide range of inorganic and organic acids, while its additional copper element provides good resistance to non-oxidizing acid corrosion. S32760 is also resistant to strong alkali corrosion; however, it is not appropriate for use at long-term working temperatures beyond 300 °C since the material's hardness drops dramatically above this temperature.
The impact energy of S32760 duplex stainless steel drops only marginally with decreasing temperature, despite its high impact strength and lack of a ductile-brittle transition. S32760's impact strength is just marginally decreased when welded. S32760 possesses great mechanical strength and ductility at both atmospheric and subzero temperatures, and it is mostly employed in corrosive conditions.
